Permanent Ganglion Cyst Removal!
Avoid surgery, painful incisions, and stitches! This is a simple in office procedure preformed under local anesthesia only. This permanently removes ganglion cysts!
How does it work?
A special suture technique is preformed through the cyst without incisions. As the stitch is placed the cyst is drained. The special stitch then creates scar tissue to prevent the cyst from expanding again.
FAQs
Does this procedure hurt?
To place the sutures the skin must be numbed. This technique is designed to be as painless as possible. If required patients are offered nitrous oxide, just like at the dentist.
What is the recovery period like?
The foot must be bandaged and kept dry for 3-5 days. We provide a shower cover that prevents your bandage from getting wet. Otherwise you are able to walk easily in a loose fitting shoe.
Is there pain after this procedure?
The site can be sore following the procedure. Tylenol, and Advil are enough to manage any discomfort.
What limitations are there while the bandage is on?
The bandage must be kept dry, and intact. So, no swimming, or heavy activity on your foot while the bandage is on the foot for about 3-5 days. Once the bandage is removed the foot is kept dry for 24 hours, and then you are released back to full activity.
Does it hurt to have this "suture" removed?
No, however occasionally patients can experience a stinging sensation.
How effective is this procedure?
Success rates range from 70-90%. Generally if the cyst does re-occur the cyst is not problematic. If it is, we can simply repeat the procedure.
Why not just have the cyst drained (aspirated)?
Because in almost every case the cyst will come back within days.
Do you take my insurance?
We are not contracted with insurances, but we can submit a claim to your insurance as "out-of-network" and so patients pay directly upfront.
